Decreased sales in March

Total sales of petroleum products in March 2014 amounted to 677 million litres. This is 15 million litres less than in March 2013 and equals a reduction of 2.2 per cent.

In March this year, sales of auto diesel were almost three times higher than sales of motor gasoline. Sales of auto diesel ended at 298 million litres and sales of motor gasoline at 100 million litres. Sales of auto diesel increased by 4.2 per cent or 12 million litres. Sales of motor gasoline decreased by 6.5 per cent or 7 million litres. Sales of diesel and gasoline accounted for nearly 59 per cent of the total sales of petroleum products in March.

The average price of a litre of gasoline was NOK 14.65; NOK 0.06 less than in March 2013. From February to March this year, the average price fell by NOK 0.13. One litre of auto diesel on average cost NOK 13.20. This corresponds to an increase of NOK 0.13 from March 2013 and a decrease of NOK 0.23 from February to March.

Increased sales of kerosene products

Total sales of kerosene products in March amounted to 93 million litres. Of this, 88 million litres were jet kerosene and 5 million litres were heating and lighting kerosene. Sales jet kerosene increased by 6 million litres and kerosene increased by about 2 million litres from March last year.

During the same period, sales of heating oil decreased. Sales ended at just under 26 million litres; about 6 million litres less than in March last year. One litre of heating oil cost on average NOK 11.03. This is an increase of NOK 1.22 from March 2013 and a decrease of NOK 0.27 from February.

In March 2014, there were 20 days of delivery, compared to 19 in March 2013.
