Weaker growth in domestic debt

The twelve-month growth in the credit indicator C2 was 5.5 per cent to end-October, down from 5.6 per cent the previous month.

The general public’s gross domestic debt C2 amounted to NOK 4 876 billion at end-October, up from NOK 4 855 billion at end-September.

Decreased debt growth for households

Households’ gross domestic debt totalled NOK 2 866 billion at end-October, up from NOK 2 849 billion the previous month. The twelve-month growth was 6.2 per cent to end-October, down from 6.4 per cent to end-September.

Weaker debt growth for non-financial corporations

Non-financial corporations’ gross domestic debt amounted to NOK 1 582 billion at end-October, unchanged from end-September. The twelve-month growth was 3.6 per cent to end-October, down from 3.7 per cent the previous month.

Increased debt growth for municipal government

Municipal government’s gross domestic debt totalled NOK 428 billion at end-October, up from NOK 424 billion at end-September. The twelve-month growth was 7.6 per cent to end-October, up from 7.2 per cent the month before.

Increased growth in banks and mortgage companies’ loans

Of the general public’s gross domestic debt, 80 per cent consisted of banks and mortgage companies’ loans at end-October. This amounted to NOK 3 905 billion. The twelve-month growth in banks and mortgage companies’ loans was 5.9 per cent to end-October, an increase from 5.8 per cent to end-September.

Stronger growth in certificate debt

The twelve-month growth rate in bond debt was 4.7 per cent to end-October, down from 6.7 per cent to end-September. The twelve-month growth rate in certificate debt was 8.5 per cent to end-October, up from 1.4 per cent the previous month.
