Average monthly earnings up NOK 1 300 in transport and storage

Full-time employees in transport and storage had average monthly earnings of NOK 40 500 as per 1 October 2013, excluding overtime pay. This was a year-on-year increase of NOK 1 300 or 3.3 per cent.

Transport and storage consists of various divisions, such as land transport, water transport, air transport, warehousing and support activities for transportation, and postal and courier activities. Among the divisions, the highest average monthly earnings are found in air transport, at NOK 52 000, whereas the lowest are found in land transport, at NOK 34 400.

The statistics are based on information from a sample of transport and storage enterprises covering a total of 67 381 full-time employees and 19 016 part-time employees. The total number of employees that forms the basis for weighting is 130 500 in transport and storage, according to the Norwegian Central Register of Enterprises and Establishments.
