The Professional Transport Act requires everyone who drives a taxi to have a licence. Taxi licences from public authorities permit the operation of taxi transport in a geographically defined area. Enterprises with licences are mostly registered as sole proprietorships. Usually the sole proprietorships are assigned a maximum of one taxi licence.
