Motor Traffic and Environment Act

The intention of this Act is to regulate motor traffic on uncultivated land and in watercourses with a view to protecting the natural environment and promoting public welfare. Motor traffic means the use of vehicles (cars, tractors, motorcycles, snowmobiles etc.) and boats or other motorized floating craft or hovercraft, and landing or taking off with motorized aircraft. Motor traffic on uncultivated land and in watercourses is in principle forbidden, but dispensation can be given in certain cases. The municipal council has the authority to grant permissions.
