Jakob Weidemann (1923-2001) was born in Steinkjer. He was one of the most important artists in Norwegian modernism in the 1950s and has been a pioneer of abstract painting in Norway. Taking his inspiration from nature, his art is characterised by abstract, expressionist paintings. Jakob Weidemann›s legacy is a large body of work, and he is represented in the largest public art collections both in Norway and abroad. From 1968, he lived in the artist home Ringsveen at Lillehammer.
