1Agglomerations with at least 200 inhabitants and where the distance between the houses as a rule does not exceed 50 metres. Before 1845 cities ("kjøpsteder" and "ladesteder") are defined as densely populated areas, so were agglomerations outside cities in the period 1845-1950.
